What are the steps of building a website?
Frequently Asked Questions - Website Design FAQs

1.  The first thing is to choose and register your domain name. Your domain name is the name of your website and oftentimes the name that people type into their browsers to get to your home page. (www.yoursite.com) We recommend choosing a domain name that reflects your company name or what you do. It's also important to choose keywords that are related to your product or service if possible.  This will help rank you higher in the search results in the long run.

2.  Determine what your content is. What is the goal of your website, and what is the goal of each page? Is your site primarily a store front with products?  Are you in the service industry? If you have existing marketing material we recommend using it. Examples of common pages are about us page, a page describing your services, contact forms etc.

3.  Determine your look and feel. What colors do you like?  What kind of conetnt will be displayed on the home page?  Once you have your content ready, including any text and images you want inserted on each page, we can begin work on the layout and design for your website.

4.  Create your web pages. After your website is complete, and you have approved of the final design, we will insert any text and images you want to include on each page and build the actual web pages that will be seen on your website.

5.  Publish your website. When your website is ready to launch, it is important to secure a web hosting service (if you haven't already) so it can be seen on the Internet. Web hosting costs range from a few dollars a month to several hundred dollars a month, depending on what you need.
